The contemporary world of work and the dynamic phenomena that influence work, labour and society, demand our awareness for every development in our profession and our scientific field. Given this, the significance of trade-union action acquires new characteristics that differ from those of the past.

Therefore today, it is much easier than in the past, and still quite necessary, to develop “bridges” between the members of every collective body on the basis of common decisions and actions.
At the same time, today it is much more difficult than in the past, but still extremely important, to retain a continuous and organised follow-up of information on every development and to separate this information from the noise of misinformation.
As a result, it becomes responsibility of each one of us to check all incoming information and to question the correctness of every openly expressed or hidden "position" that may be distributed and that may influence people and the public mind. The acceptance of this responsibility and the obligations that derive from this are the substance of what we may call "a modern trade-union action".
